Trung tâm Khuyến nông – Khuyến ngư Quảng Bình đã tổng kết mô hình nuôi tôm càng xanh trên đất lúa chuyển đổi tại các huyện Lệ Thủy, Quảng Ninh và Bố Trạch.
Năm 2018, Trung tâm triển khai nuôi thử nghiệm tôm càng xanh toàn đực ở vùng phá Hạc Hải của 2 xã Hồng Thủy, huyện Lệ Thủy) và Võ Ninh (huyện Quảng Ninh ).
Đến năm 2019, Trung tâm tiếp tục triển khai hỗ trợ nhân rộng mô hình nuôi tôm càng xanh tại xã Đồng Trạch (huyện Bố Trạch).
Mô hình được triển khai tại hộ ông Trần Văn Nghĩa, quy mô 1,2 ha và hộ ông Phan Văn Thanh, quy mô 0,7 ha. Các điểm nuôi đều là vùng chiêm trũng nhiễm mặn, trước đây trồng lúa nhưng hiệu quả thấp.
Cán bộ kỹ thuật Trung tâm hướng dẫn bà con tiến hành bơm cạn, tu sửa bờ ao, cống thoát nước, vét bớt lớp bùn đáy và để lại phần cỏ năn để tôm lên trú ẩn, bắt và diệt ốc, diệt cá tạp bằng thuốc Saponin, bón vôi khử trùng, sau 4-5 ngày mới tiến hành cấp nước cho ao.
Nước được lọc qua lưới lọc mịn. Sau khi cán bộ kỹ thuật kiểm tra kỹ lưỡng các thông số, yếu tố môi trường ao nuôi bảo đảm, bà con mới tiến hành thả giống.
Giống tôm càng xanh toàn đực được mua tại Viện Nghiên cứu Nuôi trồng thủy sản II, cơ cở sản xuất giống tại Bạc Liêu. Tôm giống khi thả có kích cỡ PL15, bơi lội khỏe mạnh, màu sắc tươi sáng. Mật độ thả 10 con/ m2…
Sau 6 tháng thả nuôi, trọng lượng tôm thu hoạch trung bình khoảng 25 con/kg, với tỷ lệ sống trên 50%, giá bán khoảng 200.000 – 230.000 đồng/kg.
Theo các chủ hộ nuôi thì giống tôm càng xanh toàn đực phù hợp với đặc điểm sinh thái vùng nuôi nhiễm mặn. Trong quá trình nuôi, tôm sinh trưởng và phát triển tốt, chưa thấy dịch bệnh nguy hiểm xảy ra.
