Bà Nguyễn Thị Bé, 42 tuổi có 400 trăm lồng nuôi tôm hùm bông và xanh ở xã Xuân Thịnh, thị xã Sông Cầu. Trong đó, hơn 100 lồng tôm hùm bông, mỗi lồng 50-70 con đạt kích cỡ từ 700 gram đến một kg, sau gần năm thả nuôi.

Gần đây, thương lái đến hỏi mua tôm hùm bông, giá 1,5 triệu đồng kg cho loại một kg mỗi con thay vì 1,2 triệu đồng như hồi tháng 2. Tuy nhiên, bà Bé không bán mà chờ qua Covid-19 và chờ đến tháng 6-7, khi tôm đủ trọng lượng mới xuất ra thị trường.
Tương tự, tôm hùm xanh loại ba con một kg được thương lái mua giá 700.000-750.000 đồng (cao hơn một tháng trước từ 120.000 đến 200.000 đồng).
Trong khi đó, ông Nguyễn Văn Hùng ở thị xã Sông Cầu cho hay, hai tháng trước người nuôi tôm hùm ở địa phương lao đao khi tôm hùm bị dịch bệnh rồi chết. Gia đình ông cùng nhiều hộ lo sợ tôm chết hàng loạt đã bán gỡ vốn làm ảnh hưởng đến sản lượng tôm.
Người nuôi phấn khởi khi tôm hùm tăng giá
Ngày 17/3, bà Lê Thị Hằng Nga (Phó chi cục thủy sản Phú Yên) cho hay, ảnh hưởng dịch bệnh khiến người nuôi tôm lo lắng nên đã bán tháo khiến giá giảm. Đến nay việc thương lái tìm mua và giá tôm tăng trở lại khiến họ phấn khởi hơn. “Nhu cầu tiêu thụ tôm hùm tại TP.HCM, Hà Nội cùng lượt khách đến tỉnh gần đây tăng cao, giúp tôm hùm tăng giá”, bà Nga nói.
Sở Nông nghiệp và Phát triển nông thôn tỉnh khuyến cáo, để tôm hùm phát triển, người nuôi cần lựa chọn thức ăn phù hợp giảm chi phí; tăng cường vệ sinh lồng nuôi tránh dịch bệnh. Ngoài ra, ngành nông nghiệp tỉnh đang tập trung tìm kiếm thị trường, duy trì ổn định giá cả cho sản phẩm tôm hùm.
Phú Yên có hơn 118.000 lồng nuôi tôm hùm tập trung ở thị xã Sông Cầu, huyện Tuy An, Đông Hòa. Trong đó, có 84.246 lồng tôm thương phẩm và gần 34.800 lồng nuôi tôm giống, sản lượng đạt 190 tấn mỗi năm tôm hùm thương phẩm.
